Dominic Osman
Dominic Osman (born February 4, 1982) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays as a Forward and also Defenseman, currently player/head coach for the Hull Pirates in the EPIHL.
Dominic Osman stated his pro career in 06/07 having spent 5 years at Lake Superior State univ. Ozzy went on to play for the Reading Royals in the ECHL for the remained of the season. In his next season he got signed in the Central Hockey League for the New Mexico Scorpions where he played 60 of the 64 games in the season scoring 47 points in the season. In 08/09 Dom went to the IHL (1945–2001) which was then the then feeder league for the AHL he played for Fort Wayne Komets and Kalamazoo Wings during the season. The next 2 years was spent back in the ECHL playing for Toledo Walleye and Florida Everblades in final season at Walleye he was given the 'A' on his shirt.
In 11/12 season coach Sylvain Cloutier recruited dominic to come to England to play for the Hull Stingrays which played in the UK top league the EIHL. he spent 2 years here and was once again wearing the 'A' on his shirt and also getting a career high in PIMs of a 122. At the end of the 12/13 season Ozzy spent his Off Season in Australia playing in one of the few summer leagues AIHL where he played for the Newcastle North Stars where they came runners up for the Goodall Cup. Soon after playing his final game in aus, Dom flew back to his home country USA where he was brought in by coach Glenn Getulleo head coach of Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL. Ozzy was brought in to be a playing assistant coach. In 14/15 Ozzy returned to England and back to the Hull Stingrays where he was to return to his defensive roll having played forward for at least the last 7 seasons, Ozzy had a good season in defence scoring 34 points from 59 games, Dominic also had a new roll for the stingrays as he was appointed sales and marketing manager. Dom left the stingrays at the end of the season to take on the role of head coach of the Sheffield Steeldogs of the EPIHL (2nd tire engish league), On the 24th of June, 2 months before the season was about to start news came of the Hull Stingrays had gone into liquidation leaving the city of Kingston upon Hull with out a professional hockey team for the 1st time in 27 years, Hours after the news of stingrays the Manchester Storm took the 10th EIHL spot left by the stingrays, The fans of hull felt very cheated and let down by the league but on the bright side there was a place in the EPIHL which was currently running 9 teams. News soon came out that Shane Smith the owner of the Sheffield Steeldogs and Dominic Osman had got the franchise for the 10th spot in the EPIHL and created the Hull Pirates. Ozzy is to be player coach and has the very difficult task of setting up a team in a very short space of time, The 1st league game starts on the 12th September.
